There has been some Peregrine Falcon activity at the Cathedral recently with visits to the nest tray and mating, so time for a visit to see how they are getting on. When I arrived they had both just flown off to escort another Peregrine out of their territory so I wandered down to the trees by the road to see if I could find the Nuthatches that sometimes feed there.
No Nuthatches, but I did manage to find a rather tame Stock Dove that allowed me to approach to within 8 yards.
Now time to settle down and wait for the Peregrines to return. They did eventually appear with the female settling on the overflow pipe at the top of the tower..................
.....................and the male by the nest tray.
Well, great to see they are both there and doing well but probably a few weeks to go before any eggs will appear in the nest tray. Today I was there for four hours and they were present for only 5 minutes, so still spending a lot of time away from the nest site.
Nice to have a catch-up with Big Kev.
