3rd January 2021
Normally at this time of year there are good numbers of Siskins at Amwell feeding on the Alders by the level crossing and by the railway opposite the James Hide. This year they have been slow to arrive, presumably because of the relatively mild weather before Christmas. However today there was a reasonable flock of some 30 birds feeding by the railway which is more of a challenge because the trees are very tall, and those away from the southern-facing edge are in shade.
However I did mange to get a few shots which may be the last for this winter because of the new lock-down.
