A Review of 2020 - Part 2 April - June

This is the second of my reviews of my photography in the year 2020 covering the period April - June for which I have selected three rather special species.

9th June 2020

A Marsh Warbler had been found at King's Meads between Hertford and Ware on the 6th June, just three miles from my house. However I didn't rush down there immediately as Covid restrictions were still in place and I didn't really want to get involved in a crowded twitch. In the event I found out it was best viewed from the fairly wide New River path where social distancing wasn't really a problem.

The bird could be elusive but at times sat at the top of a Sallow singing away and providing an opportunity for some shots.

9th June 2020

After a successful morning at King's Meads with the Marsh Warbler, on to Wallington for the Spotted Flycatchers. These birds can be fairly elusive. Some times there will be no sign of them and other times they will not only be present but also very accommodating and allowing many shots to be taken at close range. Beautiful birds.

22nd June 2020

Today was a visit to Wrabness to photograph the Sand Martin colony. Not only an amazing sight but also an amazing noise with all the buzz-buzz-buzz that the birds make as that fly around the cliff-face. What a super experience.
