There'll be Fulmars over the White Cliffs of Dover

2nd March 2025

We were on our way to Sandwich for the Short-eared Owls but time for a pit-stop at Dover to see if there were any Choughs around. We walked along the white cliffs of Dover scanning the vast area of grassland but to no avail apart from one Rook, a few Carrion Crows and numerous Jackdaws. I then spotted some birds wheeling around over the sea by the cliff-face..........Fulmars!!

We made our way down from the top path to the cliff edge which gave us a vantage point overlooking the bay and started photographing these fantastic birds as they effortlessly glided around on the up-draft.

Also good to see that one pair had already set up home!!!

Well, what a great morning and now on to Sandwich for the owls.
