It's that time of year when Wood Larks start singing so time for a trip to The Brecks. As we stepped out of the car there was no sight or sound of any larks which was unusual, but as we were returning from a walk along the river that flutey sound was wafting across the heathland and we were soon able to locate a pair busily feeding on the ground that had been specially disturbed for them.
Just look at that camouflage.
This shot shows the supercilia meeting on the nape,
What a way to spend a morning!!
