After a most successful morning ain The Brecks with the Wood Larks, time for a quick visit to the photograhic hide at Lakenheath Fen to see if the Water Rails were performing. Sadly the Water Rails had disappeared after the cold spell had ended and I had to make do with a few shots of some Reed Buntings. The first bird is a female and the second a male.
But by way of compensation we found out that two Tundra Bean Geese were present on the south side of the Little Ouse River. I had been tracking Lakenheath on Birdguides but these birds had been recorded as Hockwold Washes so slipped under the radar.
Despite being on this side of the river the birds were still 150 yards away, but due to the good light I was able to get some shots.
That'll do nicely!!!!
