A Couple of Hours at Rye Meads

13th August 2022

A couple of hours spare so time for a visit to Rye Meads to see how the Kingfishers are getting on with their third brood, but first a quick look in the Draper Hide.  Very few ducks about apart from a couple of Mallard, a few returning Teal and these plain clothes Shoveler.

The two Little Egrets were having a few disputes so plenty of flying, but unfortunately never got both in one shot.

There were five Green Sandpipers present but only one came within camera range and luckily the light was good.

So now on to the Kingfisher Hide where they are on their third brood and feeding young, although only the male was bringing in food.

After a couple of token perched shots I thought I would spend the rest of my time trying to take some flight shots and to test some techniques and settings. Reasonably happy with that  and I am sure I will be back next year.
