Redwings and Hawfinches at Bramfield Village 7th - 14th January

7th - 14th January 2022

A few more visits to Bramfield Church to try for some more Hawfinch photos in better light. As has generally been the case this winter the Hawfinches were proving to be very elusive, but by way of compensation good numbers of Redwings were feeding on the Yew berries. Here is a selection.

This one provided an action shot as it decided to move to a different tree and take its berry with it................

......................while this one just seemed keen to show the gathered throng that it was indeed a Redwing!!!

It was possible to photograph single Hawfinches high in the Ash trees.................

........................but the ones that dropped down into the Yews to feed were a lot more tricky as often partially obscured and in deep shade.

However, did manage to capture this one just as it decided to drop down into a Yew.

Looks as though there may be a few more visits on the cards.
