Time for another visit to North Hertfordshire to see how the Spotted Flycatchers are getting on. I couldn't find any at Wallington High Street or the Church despite reports earlier in the week, so I set off to Sandon.
They are more elusive this year and when I have been there totally avoiding the gravestones which are normally used as flycatching perches. I did, however, eventually manage to track them down in the marginal trees and was able to get some close-ups.
They seem to be doing quite well.
