After a most successful morning photographing the Bearded Tits at Ouse Fen, time to pop down to Holwell to see how the owls are doing. The first flight was at 2.45pm, so fairly consistent with previous visits given that the evenings are now drawing out. Only saw three owls in view at any one time tonight, but it is a large area so the fourth could still be around.
None of the owls came particularly close this afternoon, but the reasonable light made up for it.
And after an hours flying, time for a rest.
But the star of the show tonight was the male Sparrowhawk that zipped through the set-a-side about a foot above the ground as the assembled gathering were waiting for the owls to appear. Always nice to have a support act!!!
