A Morning Visit to St Aidan's

9th November 2021

Had a spare morning on a family visit to Leeds so decided to visit St Aidan's. The forecast wasn't brilliant, but by 9.00am there was wall-wall sunshine so lets just hope some birds are on show. On the east-west trail there were good numbers of loafing Shovelers with a few Lapwing thrown in, all looking smart in the superb light.

There was also some flight activity.

On the western scrape the three Ruff were still present and showing reasonably well. I wonder how long they will stay?

But the stars of the show today were the pair of Stonechats that acted as a welcoming committee on the eastern trail. They were not only very tame but also glowed in the early morning golden hour.

Well. what a fantastic way to spend a morning and my very special thanks to Steve Cribbin who shared his local knowledge and took me to see the Ruff.

And in the words of The Terminator, I'll be back!!!
