After our very successful morning visit to Southend Pier, time to move on to Wallasea Island to see what the Short-eared Owls are up to. We set up position and waited for some action when an owl started hunting a little further along the path. It was going to be a race against time as the sun was currently peeping throuh a narrow slit in the cloud and was soon going to disappear. Sadly, the owl stayed distant during this time.
Then, just as the sun went behind the cloud and the light faded, the owl decided to perch on a post and allowed us to move gently nearer along the path taking photographs as we went. Shame about the light, but we'll be back!!!
