Another Afternoon with the Hawfinches at Bramfield

According to recent reports up to seven Hawfinches have been reported, so time for a visit. As usual they were very elusive for a while but eventually did poke their heads out of the Yews, definitely a "you ain't seen me..............right?" moment.

This one appeared to be the look-out, sitting right on top.

The main difference this visit was that they were also sitting on top of the bare trees which they have always done in previous years. This makes photography a lot easier, but does not have the benefit of a Yew background which brings out the colours.

A lovely afternoon with the Hawfinches and also nice to have a chat with Stella from Cambridge.
