A couple of hours spare so where better to go than my local reserve Lemsford Springs. Plenty of Little Egrets around but surprisingly not a single duck, not even a Mallard. There were of course five of the usual suspects, Green Sandpipers.
This one had one eye skyward assessing a potential threat overhead.
We were also visited by one of the resident Grey Wagtails looking absolutely resplendent in the afternoon sun.
But the star of the show today was the lone Common Snipe which uncharacteristically was feeding right out in the open in the sunshine.
Well, that was two hours well spent and also good to bump into Rose and Dave, and not forgetting Steve the postman.
