A day out at Holland Haven hoping for some migrants along the sea wall when we noticed about 20 Swallows gathering around the sluice area, presumably feeding up before their long journey back to Africa.
It was easy to photograph them when they were perched up on the brickwork but not so easy when they are on the wing so this is my first serious attempt at photographing Swallows in flight. There was only one adult amongst them with one streamer longer than the other.
Many of the other birds I photographed were juveniles which is a very encouraging sign.
Well, that was a challenge but great fun and something I will definitely be trying again.
