A Slavonian Grebe at Hanningfield Reservoir

21st November 2021

On the 31st October I had travelled to Hanningfield to photograph the Black-necked Grebe, remember this?

Well, it was there for a few more days and then mysteriously turned into a Slavonian Grebe, so off for another visit. Like the Black-necked Grebe it was close in to the bank so photography was relatively easy, provided off course that you remembered to take your stool so that you can see over the green chain-link fence.

For some reason it was being harassed by the resident Great Crested Grebes, so frequently took to the air to find a quieter spot.

Well that's taken care of them so time for a wing-flap and back to fishing.
