An Afternoon Visit to Abberton Reservoir

14th April 2018

After a successful day at Fingringhoe Wick, time for a quick visit to Abberton Reservoir for a coffee before heading home. Still pretty quiet until the summer visitors arrive, but the new kids on the block were a pair of Oystercatchers on the banks of the Layer Breton causeway.

Shovelers were stilll present, albeit in lower numbers, and were chasing each other around now that the breeding season is almost upon us.

But the star of the show this afternoon was this stunning Yellow Wagtail which was strutting its stuff along the water's edge.

What a fantastic end to the day. Now where is that coffee before we do battle with the A120?
